I'm not sure where to start. How do you describe an experience that is so unique and personal? I guess I'll just start from the beginning.

We arrived in San Agustinillo on a blissful, hot & sunny day. After settling into our rooms at Zazil, we had a quick orientation and a restorative yoga class to unwind from our travels. San Agustinillo is a small, fishing town on the Pacific coast of Mexico. It's one of those places that feels like it's stuck in time.

That first evening, we enjoyed a welcome dinner that introduced everyone in our retreat. The view from our retreat was really special, the ocean was so vast and blue, and the sky was ablaze with oranges and pinks. It was an incredibly peaceful way to end our first day in Mexico.

The retreat was a six-day program that included daily yoga classes, meditation sessions, and cultural activities. We also had the opportunity to explore the town and its beaches. The yoga classes were challenging and I really felt like I improved my practice during the retreat. The meditation sessions were also very beneficial and helped me to find some inner peace. The overall theme of the retreat was Amor Eterno (Eternal Love), so each day our guides expertly weaved an aspect of unconditional love.

We had our first temazcal (traditional Mexican steam bath) and Cacao ceremony on Tuesday. This was definitely a unique experience! We all stripped down to nothing and piled into this dark, tiny room heated by rocks which were brought into the space one by one. Once we were all inside, the door was closed and we were left in complete darkness. We could hear the sounds of the waves crashing against the shore, and soon enough, we started to sweat. It was honestly pretty unbearable at times, the heat and steam opened our pores and allowed us to release toxins, The medicine woman and her apprentice chanted throughout the ceremony, and singing with them helped us stay focused and overcome the conditions inside the temazcal.

After our temazcal, we had community time at a cool restaurant across the street then walked around town while some people went to the beach. This was definitely my favorite part of the trip. The sun was setting behind us, casting beautiful orange light over everything around us. The waves were crashing against the shore, and I could hear people laughing and talking as they walked by on the beach. It was such a special experience to be sitting there on that beach taking in all of those sights and sounds.

I could have sat there for hours, but eventually we all decided to head back up to Zazil. On the walk back, I felt like I was floating on air--it was such a euphoric feeling! We returned back to a fabulous dinner prepared by our chef and spent the rest of the evening dancing and laughing.

Participating in the psilocybin journey was also deeply transformative. This was an amazing experience that allowed me to connect with my inner self and the natural world in a profound way. It was an intense experience, but also deeply healing. I was able to confront my fears and let go of the things that were holding me back. We emerged from the experience transformed and ready to face the future with courage and optimism. Our leaders and guides had an exceptional gift to make the participants feel safe, supported and cared for.

Imagine waking up each morning feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. You might even want to dip in the ocean or go skinny dipping at Mexico's only legal nude beach, Zipolite! San Agustinillo is an unforgettable experience that left me with so much energy; it's no wonder people travel from all over the world for this retreat- they know what they're getting themselves into ;)
