Welcome to a new reality—well, sort of. The last week of July brings some big energy shifts, with 3 major planets changing signs. In some ways we’re being transported into the past—starting now through October, Jupiter retrogrades back into Aquarius where he’ll rehash themes from early spring.
What have you been trying to grow and expand since then, and what’s been getting in the way?
It’s also Leo season, which typically means basking in the flair of the smouldering Sun and bringing that heat to the street. This Leo season is a bit muted though, as the Sun’s rays meet some resistance, and Mercury, Venus, and Mars travel together on a low-key trip through Virgo.
Mercury, now moving at its fastest speed enters Leo for a brief stint. Moving close to the Sun, Mercury brings us gleaming answers to inspire the coming New Moon in Leo on August 8th. Mercury will then make a dash for it into Virgo on August 11th.
Mars also enters Virgo which makes for a calmer and more subtle tone after it’s fire-spinning stay in Leo for the past two months.
The vibe is certainly changing, and the next two weeks bring a distinctive new flavor. With both Venus and Mars in Virgo, we’re encouraged to do some clean-up, and re-organization of what we hold near and dear. Notice the details making their way to the forefront of your attention. It’s a good time to get down and dirty, and do some work.

Sunday August 1st
Mercury in Leo conjoins the Sun. In astrology this is called a Cazimi, where the messenger planet Mercury meets the heart of the Sun to deliver some groundbreaking messages. Something might be coming to light in a big way for you. On this same day Mercury also opposes Saturn in Aquarius, sextiles the north node in Gemini, and trines the south node in Sagittarius. There’s a good chance that whatever message you receive today will have some potent long term implications. Something that changes the way you move forward, or mandates letting go of something you’ve been holding onto that’s been dimming your shine.
Monday August 2nd
The Sun in Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius and Mercury in Leo trines Chiron in Aries. Today might drag, and activate some sore spots. It might also deepen whatever clarity you received from the day before. Whatever you’re realizing, is it serving to bring you back to yourself more authentically? Is it encouraging you to confront the discomfort of meeting the parts of yourself that have long gone suppressed?
Tuesday August 3rd
Venus in Virgo trines Uranus in Taurus, and Mercury in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus. Something good, something unexpected. Trust surprises, and have faith in their constant unfolding. Today might bring a delight of sorts, or some other welcome message or arrangement.
Wednesday August 4th
The Sun in Leo trines Chiron in Aries. Again we’re being invited to confront the ways we abandon ourselves and diffuse our radiance. The way we keep healing at bay by turning to our ego for comfort and shallow defense. Be willing to open your heart and listen to it today—even and especially if it feels a little tender.
Friday August 6th
The Sun in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus. Another day of potential shocks and surprises. In some way you’re being shaken to face more of yourself, and stand boldly in your expression. Something that’s been radically changing in your life this past year is getting highlighted in some way today. This could be a conversation, an encounter, or a situation that demands you stay rooted in your new and liberated becoming.
Monday August 9th
Venus in Virgo opposes retrograde Neptune in Pisces. Some layer of illusion is being peeled back in your relationships today. A dynamic you’ve been falling for, or a way you’ve been experiencing a particular relationship may turn out to have been deceiving. Something today might bring the harsh reality of a relational situation to light.
Wednesday August 11th
Mars in Virgo squares the north node in Gemini and the south node in Sagittarius, Mercury enters Virgo, and Venus in Virgo trines retrograde Pluto in Capricorn. Today is about recognizing what brings you utility, and what tools allow you to make tangible strides. Although each step may not always be easy, can you relax into knowing your actions are supported by a greater overarching Truth? Today’s a day for getting clearer on what that truth might look like for you.
And that’s a wrap! Happy sailing through these next two lazy weeks of summer. They might turn out to be way busier and more productive than you’d expect. Remember to also make room for rest and pleasure along with keeping your nose glued to that Virgo grindstone.
